“en”:”- (calm piano music) – Hi, everyone! How’s it going? Okay, I have so much to talk about so I’m going to try to make this quick if I can. So first of all, I want to thank you guys so, so much. I finally reach my one million subscriber mark. I will be making a separate video for that, just talking about my whole YouTube journey and everything. If you guys do have any questions or anything like that then comment below. In celebration of that, I will be showing you guys how to paint three different artwork. I also painted six of these so I will be doing a giveaway on these original artwork by me to you guys. If you guys want to win them then don’t forget to follow the rules below. I will be breaking these tutorials up into three parts.
For this video, I am going to show you how to paint the beach and the other two, the links will be toward the end of this video. Let’s get started. All right guys, so are you ready to start painting the beach? Let’s start with the materials. You will need a wide variety colors of acrylic paint. I prefer using real art paint over craft paint because they are more pigmented and easier to mix. (calm piano music) I bought all my craft paint from my local craft store. Down on my list are paintbrushes. I bought these in a starter package from Michael’s. I will have more specific information on this on my blog at LifeAnnStyle.com.
You also need something to mix your paint on, as well as a cup of water to clean your paintbrushes. Finally, you will need some canvases. I am using eight by 10, but you can use any size you prefer. (calm piano music) Once you have all your supplies and ready to paint, what we’re going to do now is paint on the background color. I personally chose a light sky-blue and, therefore, am mixing together my blue with some white. Next, I’m taking a big brush and I”m painting it onto all three of my canvases. Now remember, you can paint your background color any color of your choice. Remember to be creative and have fun with this. After you paint on your background color just let all three canvases set to dry for a good hour or so.
The first paintin we will be working on is the beach and these are the colors I will be using. White, turquoise, blue, some yellows and brown. (calm piano music) These are some of the brushes that I will be using. You can use other brushes as well. Try to experiment with different brushes to see which one makes you feel comfortable or which one gives you the best results. The first thing I’m going to do is draw in my horizon with some dark blue paint. The reason why is to give this some depth. So somewhere around the center of the canvas, draw a straight line. You can use a piece of paper or Scotch tape to help you do so.
(calm piano music) Now I’m going to paint in a little bit more of this dark blue and I’m going to make this about half an inch thick on my canvas. (calm piano music) So to make the lighter part of the water, what I’m going to do is mix in some blue and white and then I’m going to mix in a little bit of green to get that turquoise look. (calm piano music) Now I’m going to paint that in and I’m going to paint that about two inches thick on my canvas. Then I’m going to blend that in with a darker blue. If you feel like you need to add some darker blue, go right ahead and do so and blend that into your turquoise. (calm piano music) To paint the sand, I’m mixing brown, white and yellow together. Just keep mixing this together and if you feel like you want to go for a lighter shade, then add in a little bit more white. If you want a little bit more brown to show, add a little bit more brown.
If you want a little bit more warmth, then add in more yellow or, maybe, orange. Art is about expressing yourself so let your creativity flow through in your colors and how you will paint this. (calm piano music) Once you’re happy with the color you mix, go ahead and paint that sand on. Be careful not to let that sandy color touch the blue because you would not want that to mix just yet. (calm piano music) Now to make the shore hitting the sand, what I’m taking out is a flat round brush and I’m just making small little semi-circular motion on between the blue and the sandy part. Just go ahead and sweep that white on gently. (calm piano music) Think of the water as you’re doing this.
Go in wave-like motion. (calm piano music) Now with a smaller and flat brush, I’m going to paint in many waves breaking into the ocean. (calm piano music) After that, I’m going back into the bigger waves and adding more details as if the water is splashing. This method works better when you’re using a drier brush so try drying it out on a paper towel before dipping it into your paint. (calm piano music) Feel free to flush in some additional details to your waves. Remember, it’s your creation and there’s no right or wrong way in doing so. I believe you can do it. All right guys, so now it’s time to make the happy clouds. Take the hard bristle flat brush and lightly load it with some white paint. Use circular motions like the waves and paint on your clouds. Start at the center and paint outwards as your brush runs out of paint to give it a light wispy look.
If you would like, draw in a few happy seagulls or whatever you prefer drawing. Some starfish or maybe a little mermaid or a dolphin. Whatever you prefer. You should be creative and just have fun with this. Let it go, let your creativity flow. And if you mess up? Who cares? You can always start over. You can always paint over this. Have fun with this guys. It’s all about trying something new. It’s all about challenging yourself and seeing what you can do and if you can’t do it, that’s okay. That’s okay. It’s absolutely fine.
You can always try something else. At least you can tell yourself that you tried it. You should be proud of yourself for that. I’m very proud of you. I’m glad that we all can try this together. (calm piano music) This is part of a set of three paintings. If you want to challenge yourself or try something new, then don’t forget to check out the other tutorials.
